About Us

Adlyfe Inc. was established early in 2003 to develop novel technologies for testing for early targets of amyloid diseases. Adlyfe is developing a novel test for the detection and amplification of amyloid proteins as early biomarkers of fatal brain diseases.

Our Technology:

Our novel technology is based on the synthesis of small peptide ligands (PronucleonTM ligands) which are amino acid sequence matched to target amyloids of interest. Ligand sequences are selected based on regions of the target protein known to undergo conformational changes associated with amyloid formation. Ligand sequence selection is the basis for our assay specificity. The interaction of the target amyloid protein with our proprietary ligands induces the ligands to undergo a conformational change that transduces a fluorescent signal. Further amplification of the signal is generated as additional ligands are nucleated to undergo conformational changes. This is the basis for our sensitivity and ability to detect very low amyloid protein levels before symptoms occur.

Alan S. Rudolph, PhD, MBA - Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Rudolph has been active in operating and investing in emerging research and development his whole career. He led blood product development for the U.S. Navy for over a decade with over 100 technical publications and 15 patents in lipids, proteins, and useful products derived from their assembly. He also led significant venture investments as Chief of Biological Sciences and Technology and maintained a life sciences portfolio including managing new start-up companies in emerging new technology areas including advanced diagnostics, tissue engineering, and neurosciences for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

Roxanne Duan, PhD – VP, Research
Dr. Duan comes to Adlyfe with nearly two decades of experience. Prior to joining Adlyfe, she served as Vice President of Research at Functional Genetics, Inc., where she focused on developing anti-infectious therapeutics, including those for Ebola, Smallpox, HIV and Influenza and building applications for the company's RHGP platform. Prior to Functional Genetics, Dr. Duan served as project leader of several clinical therapeutic candidates at Human Genome Sciences (HGS). In addition, she holds more than 20 issued patents in the area of protein therapeutics. She has also served as Principal Consultant, R. Duan & Associates and as President, CEO, and founder of Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which was formed to discover medicine for cancer using proteomics and RNA silencing technology.
